June 7, 2009: The Second Annual Ride to Hillside

The Second Annual Ride to help the kids of Hillside Hospital for Children in Atlanta was a huge success, mostly in part to all of you who contributed of yourselves to bring smiles to the Children of Hillside.

Over 125 motorcycles participated in the ride with over 150 riders. An additional 100 people attended the after ride rally at the American Legion despite the extremely high temperatures that afternoon.
Overall an estimated $3000 was raised and an additional $2,000 estimated in toys, accessories and clothing were donated to Hillside.

A family who attended this event had these words to share with us:

"As parents of a child at Hillside, we cannot thank you enough for all of you taking up your Sunday to ride to Hillside for the kids. Our son was so excited that the bikes were coming to Hillside that he insisted that we come to see them. We watched your interaction with the kids and the enjoyment on their faces when they saw you ride in. Then, oh my gosh, they even got to sit on the bikes."

"Thank you Eric for the loan of your jacket so some of the kids could sit on the bikes and look like a true biker"
"As parents, we know how much this day meant not only to our son but to the other kids there. It is truly appreciated"

Barb and Daniel

Our thanks and sincere appreciation go out to the multitude of volunteers, families, the staff at Hillside and the kids, for their support and their personal contribution to this successful event.

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank the many businesses in the Buford and surrounding area for their contributions as well. We could not have conducted this event without your generous offerings of donations and support.

The Children of Hillside Thank you.
